PROPERTY NEWS: Worldwide Holding's public housing project has won the QLASSIC award.

Key takeaway: The Seri Musytari apartment project by Worldwide Holdings Bhd (WHB) has been recognised by QLASSIC (Quality Assessment System in Construction) in the category of public housing projects.

The Seri Musytari Apartment project entailed the construction of 168 Rumah Selangorku apartments, 118 of which were type C and 50 of which were type D, on a 0.81-hectare plot of land in Subang Bestari.

The Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board honoured the project at the most recent QLASSIC Award 2022 ceremony (CIDB).

QLASSIC is a system or method for measuring and evaluating the workmanship quality of building construction work in accordance with Construction Industry Standards.

WHB group CEO Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria said in a statement that the company's achievement in receiving the QLASSIC award is another demonstration of its commitment to efforts to improve Malaysians' quality of life, particularly in the Selangor region.

"(This) is regardless of whether the project is developed to meet the government's agenda such as Rumah Selangorku scheme or for the free market. WHB's outstanding achievement in this category is also in line with CIDB Malaysia's aspirations towards making more high-quality affordable housing since the QLASSIC assessment is mandatory for all public and private housing projects in Malaysia from 2020," she said.

In addition to Seri Musytari Apartment, Norazlina stated that numerous previous projects created by WHB's real estate division, Worldwide Property, such as Amber, Ametis, and Azalea, received QLASSIC recognition.

Worldwide Property is currently constructing several new real estate developments in Selangor, including Cyber Valley in Cyberjaya, Daunan Worldwide in Puncak Alam, and Puncak Bestari in Puncak Bestari.
