On the 7th of June, the Selangor State Development (PKNS) handed over 864 units at Residensi Idaman Selangorku (Type D) in Selangor Cyber Valley to the new owners.
PKNS is working on a project called Residensi Idaman Selangorku to support the National Affordable Housing Policy.
On a 14.41-acre property, the units are placed in two residential buildings. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as two parking spaces for each unit, and has a built-up area of 1,000 square feet. The price is RM230,000.
Rodziah Ismail, the Selangor state Exco of Housing, Urban Wellbeing, and Entrepreneurs Development, presided over the transfer event.
She noted during the event that affordability is a major challenge and that the state government has taken various steps to improve homeownership.
"For many people, owning a home is a problem, with housing affordability being the primary concern. In order to create a competitive economy, the Selangor State Government has developed a number of programs to provide and increase access to cheap housing," Rodziah added.
PKNS has included an aspect of inclusivity in the project in addition to providing affordable housing.
"Residensi Idaman Selangorku has gone beyond mere brick and mortar with the goal of assisting the B40 community in Selangor to settle into homes of their own," said PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas.
"Many factors were considered in order to build a cohesive community and an inclusive living environment with amenities and facilities to improve the residents' well-being."
The renovation has included four units across the apartment with purpose-built wheelchair-friendly platforms, with the goal of enabling easy accessibility for the differently-abled.
The Residensi Idaman Selangorku is close to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and has convenient access to the North–South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Putrajaya Link, and the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE).
