PROPERTY NEWS: NCT Group announces Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Huawei and Green Quarters for smart solutions in a upcoming industrial park

Key takeaway: Last Friday (Oct 14), NCT Group of Companies inked two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Green Quarters Sdn Bhd for its planned NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) in Selangor.

Huawei will provide ICT infrastructure goods and solutions, data centre solutions, and solar energy storage solutions to help the NSIP become a fully linked smart development, according to a press release issued on Monday. Huawei would also consider offering value-added technological advancements developed and created by the company.

NCT’s MOU with Green Quarters, on the other hand, is aimed at working to achieve a sustainable industrial park in compliance with local and international green building certifications to reduce the industrial and commercial carbon footprint. Green Quarters will support the NSIP by providing counsel in its areas of expertise.

Chong Chern Peng, vice president of Huawei Malaysia's digital power division, stated that the pursuit of an intelligent age and carbon neutrality has become a globally shared objective in which data centres would experience changes in service forms, energy supply, operations, and maintenance models.

According to the statement, Huawei provides innovative solutions such as fast delivery, low PUE (power usage effectiveness), and centralised energy storage to construct low-carbon data centres and contribute to a greener environment.
