PROPERTY NEWS: Rehda, KPKT and Omnia collaborate to boost homeownership

Karnival Jom Beli Rumah is a government initiative to promote homeownership among the rakyat and was organised by the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association (Rehda) Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) and Media Prima Omnia Bhd (Omnia).

The event, which will take place from July 15 to July 17 in Hall 1 of the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur, will run from 10 am to 9 pm and serves as a one-stop-shop for prospective homebuyers.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and KPKT minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican will officiate the event in the opening ceremony.

Tong claims that a wide selection of properties, including high-end/premium and cheap housing units, would be available at the exhibition. Everyone should take advantage of this opportunity, and we especially encourage those who are still seeking to buy a home to attend the expo because homes may be an excellent hedge against inflation because they often increase in value over time.

Six financial institutions, including the expo's financial partner, Maybank Bhd, will be present at the event, along with over 20 property developers who will be displaying their most recent offerings to visitors.

Throughout the event, there will be other intriguing events planned, including financial and real estate presentations from JPN, Maybank, and Cagamas Bhd.

Celebrities Sissy Iman, Khai Bahar, Tomok, and Puteri Hareeza will also perform at the event, while well-known television host Maria Tunku Sabri will make an appearance on the second day of the expo to host a live cooking show. For the children and young-at-heart, there will also be face painting activities, popcorn, and cotton candy giveaways. According to Tong, lucky buyers would be entitled to receive reimbursement from Rehda of up to RM100,000.
