PROPERTY NEWS: Malaysia's first luge attraction soon to be constructed at Gamuda Gardens

Gamuda Land conducted a ground-breaking ceremony for Skyline Enterprises' first Luge Activity Park in the country, which will open to the public before the end of the year.

It will feature Malaysia's first ski lift ride as well as a multi-cornered zipline. The developers intend to provide tourists with an exciting experience by using themed landscaping throughout the route.

"Today's ceremony demonstrates how we are able to create sustainable developments that can cater to the needs and wants of people, especially ones that are surrounded by nature with ample public spaces for the community, by leveraging our expertise in town-making and leveraging fruitful collaboration with like-minded partners such as Skyline Enterprises for our community placemaking," Gamuda Land chief operating officer Chu Wai Lune said.

Tourism is the third-largest contributor to Malaysia's GDP, with Malaysia being one of the most popular tourist destinations in ASEAN.

MIDA intends to leverage the competitiveness of Malaysia's tourist industry in order to attract high-value and creative investments that would help the country accomplish its socio-economic development goals, as outlined in the National Tourism Policy 2020-2030.

"Our visitors will enjoy a unique and exhilarating experience at Gamuda Gardens' Skyline Luge Park." Skyline Enterprises CEO Geoff McDonald said, "It is designed to function within the local topography and will give an exhilarating ride from the top of the 40m elevated hill."

The Luge Activity Park will provide dry recreational rides to anchor the city centre's open-space malls by the end of 2023, complementing the wet recreational attractions of Play Park in Gamuda Gardens City Centre.
